QSE Performances Elevating to the Next Level

14 July 2016

Continual enhancement of our QSE (Quality, Safety and Environment) practices is an integral part of our corporate objectives, and our QSE team spared no effort in upgrading selected aspects of our management system to enhance our QSE performances in terms of operations.

Dragages Hong Kong (DHK) brought a number of TECHNICAL FIRSTS to Hong Kong for the last 60 years. Recently, the Company received the Certificate of Energy Management System (ISO 50001:2011) – another FIRST in Hong Kong’s construction industry for civil and building infrastructures which symbolises our outstanding QSE performances. With over 200 million KWh forecast consumption in both current and the upcoming 2 years, we anticipate that energy consumption will be reduced some 20%, representing a cut of 40 million KWh.

In addition to being the FIRST in the industry, our QSE team has been efficient in the renewal of our existing certificates. All 3 certifications – OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) were renewed, and upgraded to the new standard (2015 version) for the ISO certificates. Thus, it took us less than 6 months to upgrade ISO 9001 and 14001 upon the release of the latest 2015 versions. Once again, our QSE team has set an exemplary standard in terms of both efficiency and quality of certifications.

Dragages Hong Kong’s activities are at a record peak and our 4 ongoing civil projects represent a significant portion of our parent company – Bouygues Travaux Publics’ (BYTP) overall activity. To elevate our productivity performances to the next level, we have been working closely with BYTP for the implementation of both PERFORM TP and LEAN construction management in all of our civil projects for the last 4 years. As of now, more than 25 activities out of our 4 civil projects are being supported by the local team.

Being an industry pioneer, DHK Managing Director – Nicolas Borit has been invited by the Hong Kong Construction Association as the speaker for the ‘International Conference on LEAN Construction’. Key global players from the US, Japan and the Mainland China, will join this key event to be held in October.
