Inspiring Visitors of All Ages: The TI Tower 4D Virtual Tour
09 October 2015
Innovation has always been at the heart of our businesses. Not only does it apply to our construction techniques and technologies, we also aim to nurture the next generation by sharing best practices and the latest technical know-how. As part of this commitment to market leadership and good corporate citizenship, our Trade and Industry Tower (TI Tower) interactive 4D exhibition, which was first displayed at our 60th Anniversary exhibition held in March 2015, is now open to the public at Zero Carbon Building.
This interactive and educational TI Tower exhibition was developed in association with the R&D Department of Bouygues Construction. Featuring virtual reality technology, it is designed to promote green practices in two key ways:
1. Virtual tour – A 4D virtual experience of the TI Tower Main Lobbies, through the use of virtual reality goggles.
2. Interactive Walkthrough – Available in Game mode and Professional mode, the interactive games enable players to familiarise themselves with the TI Tower’s sustainable features, such as its connection to the District Cooling System, which resulted in energy-savings of about 20%. The Professional mode highlights green features in accordance with Hong Kong BEAM Plus Platinum rating criterion; players walk through all the green features that equipped it to become the first Hong Kong Government office building to achieve HK BEAM Plus Platinum and LEED Platinum certification.
Since September 2015, the exhibition has been set-up at Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) in Kowloon Bay as part of ZCB’s guided tour. It has already proven very popular with both students and industry practitioners. To date, the different groups visiting the exhibition have spanned from primary schools and secondary schools to various Government departments. The exhibition will remain available till December 2015 and is open to all tour bookings.
