Company-wide Safety Campaigns
05 May 2017
Prioritising Safety over everything else has always been the company’s key commitment to our staff, our clients and our community. On 12th April, Dragages Hong Kong held Safety Stand Downs at all our project sites in Hong Kong to reflect on our safety performance and to reaffirm our commitment to make Safety our top priority.
Wes Jones, our Managing Director, together with Michel Bonnet (Director of Operations – Civil Works) and Duncan Inglis (Operation Safety Director) visited all work sites to reinforce the Company’s Safety objectives and expectations. Project Directors and supervisors hosted detailed reviews of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Temporary Works Designs with the teams, and refresher Task Launch Meetings for all work activities.

Our Mission
It’s the duty and obligation of all of us to put safety as our number 1 priority. The first consideration of any decision we take must be for the safety and well-being of our people, such that they are able to go home safely everyday to their families and loved ones.
About Safety Leadership, Safety Culture and Personal Behaviour
The most important aspect of our job is Safety. Safety and production are not mutually exclusive, and in fact the better our safety, the better our production will be. We also need to be 100% transparent and report all Near Misses to ensure lessons can be learnt and shared across the company. If we see something that is not safe on site, it is the personal duty of each individual to stop and ensure it is corrected.
About ‘Back to Basics’ Management Process
We must ensure that the basics of our Safety Management System – Method Statement, Risk Assessment, Temporary Works Designs, Internal and External Approvals and Task Launch Briefings – are all in place before the works commence, and then followed on site.
About Physical Site Conditions
Assess physical site conditions every morning and every afternoon, and show your safety leadership by keeping the work areas safe, clean and in a condition that we can all be proud of.
