Dragages wins public-sector housekeeping award
25 February 2009
Dragages Hong Kong Limited won the coveted Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme for its site management of the Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel. Organised by the Drainage Services Department (DSD), the Award Scheme was first launched in 2004 to promote high standards of housekeeping on the DSD’s construction sites. In the years since, the Award has evolved into an important benchmark for site management, while also helping to promote the image of the DSD and its contractors as responsible members of the community.
Consideration for this award took the form of surprise visits by assessors, during which the site was scored on a number of key criteria, including its cleanliness and appearance, its standards of hygiene and mosquito control, its control of environmental nuisances, and its measures to reduce the impact of construction work on residents and road users. Findings from these surprise visits were then reviewed by a judging panel.
“Dragages Hong Kong Limited is thrilled to receive this award,” said Nicolas Borit, Managing Director of Dragages Hong Kong Limited. “Throughout our work on the Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel, we took great care to ensure that the site was always managed in the most effective manner, which directly contributed to the enhancement of site safety and work efficiency. We applaud the Drainage Services Department for its commitment to this award scheme and the valuable role it plays in improving the standard of work sites.”
